MISSING TEETH? HERE'S WHAT CAN HAPPEN.
Your other teeth start to shift. When there’s a gap, the teeth next to it can slowly move out of place. This can change your bite and make future dental work harder. A bridge holds everything in position.
Chewing becomes difficult or painful. Avoiding one side of your mouth puts extra wear on the other side. A dental bridge restores your ability to chew evenly and comfortably on both sides.
You stop smiling with confidence. A visible gap can make you self-conscious in conversations, photos, and everyday life. A custom bridge from A&S Dental Group fills the space with a natural-looking tooth so you can smile freely again.
Types of Bridges We Offer
Traditional bridge:
The most common type. A false tooth is held in place by crowns on both neighboring teeth. Best for filling a gap where you have healthy teeth on each side.
Implant-supported bridge:
Instead of crowns on neighboring teeth, this bridge attaches to dental implants. A good option when multiple teeth are missing or the surrounding teeth aren’t strong enough to support a traditional bridge.
Bridge vs. Other Options
Wondering whether a bridge, implant, or partial denture is right for you? A bridge is usually faster and less invasive than an implant, and it’s fixed in place—meaning you don’t remove it like a denture. Dr. Cervantes will walk you through the options during your consultation and help you pick what makes the most sense for your situation.
How the Process Works
Step 1 — Exam and planning. Dr. Cervantes examines the gap and the teeth on either side. She’ll take X-rays and impressions to design a bridge that fits your mouth exactly.
Step 2 — Preparing the support teeth. The teeth next to the gap are gently reshaped so the bridge crowns can fit over them. A temporary bridge is placed while your permanent one is made.
Step 3 — Fitting the permanent bridge. Once your custom bridge is ready, Dr. Cervantes checks the fit, adjusts the bite, and cements it in place. Most patients are done in two visits.

Dental Bridge FAQs
How long does a dental crown last?
How long does a dental bridge last? With good care, most dental bridges last 10 to 15 years—sometimes longer. Brushing, flossing around the bridge, and keeping up with regular checkups will help it last as long as possible.
Does getting a bridge hurt?
The area is numbed before any work begins, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure. Some patients feel mild soreness for a day or two after, but over-the-counter pain relief usually takes care of it.
How much does a dental bridge cost in Brandon, FL?
The cost depends on how many teeth are involved and the type of bridge. Most dental insurance plans cover a portion of bridge treatment. We’ll give you a clear cost breakdown before any work begins so there are no surprises.
Can I eat normally with a dental bridge?
Yes. Once the bridge is cemented in and you’ve adjusted to it—usually within a week or two—you can eat normally. We’ll give you a short list of things to avoid in the first few days while you get used to it.
What’s the difference between a bridge and an implant?
A bridge is held in place by the teeth next to the gap. An implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone with a crown on top. Bridges are faster and less invasive. Implants last longer but require surgery and more healing time. Dr. Cervantes can help you decide which one is right for you.
